My name is Sophia Kazinnik. I currently hold a Sr. Quantitative Analyst position within the Supervision, Regulation and Credit (QSR) department at the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond. Prior to joining the Richmond Fed, I have worked at the University of Houston, teaching courses in economics. I received my bachelor’s degree from the Tel Aviv University (Tel-Aviv, Israel), and earned my doctoral degree in economics from the University of Houston.
In my current role, I work on developing, validating and deploying machine learning and statistical models using Matlab, Stata and R. I have also worked on development and production of analytical tools that provide significant and meaningful information to the user.
My research interests focus on applying Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques in the realm of financial economics.
